Azar Akhavan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from George Mason University in Virginia, and a Master’s degree in Audiology from Northeastern University in Boston. Azar began her extensive education and research in the field of nutrition and healthy living over 10 years ago. Presently, she is a Clinical Audiologist in Northern Virginia. Akhtar Akhavan holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, and she has dedicated years of research to holistic medicine. Akhtar currently specializes in nutritional research and counseling in Northern Virginia. The Akhavan sisters are the creators and hosts of a holistic nutrition television show that airs weekly nationwide on Rang-A-Rang TV based in Washington, DC. Their program, Niaz-E-Badan (“Body Needs”), is a live, interactive format in which viewers are welcome to call in with questions about health and nutrition. The Akhavan sisters say that their goal is simple, “To improve and enhance people’s health through education and counseling.” Niaz-E-Badan airs at 3pm EST every Saturday.
